Position Qualifications & Requirements:

Must have credits in early childhood or be enrolled in a college program.

Lead teachers must have a degree in the field of education.

Must be CPR and First Aid certified

Required to complete and maintain 18 hours of professional development a year

Position Responsibilities:

Plans, implements and evaluates a weekly curriculum with team members
Plans a curriculum that provides a balance of opportunities for:
Indoor/outdoor play
Quiet/active play
Individual/small groups/large group activities
Child centered/teacher directed activities
Learning through “process” experiences
Learning through problem solving

Evaluates the learning environment and adapts it to meet the needs of children

Accepts fair share of responsibility for classroom preparation and other tasks assigned
Creates a classroom culture that is inclusive and anti-biased

General Responsibilities:

Assures the Center meets state licensing regulations at all times
Assures the Center meets NAEYC requirements at all times
