Ralph Waldo Emerson School for Preschoolers is a Reggio-inspired, nature based, non-profit school in Concord, NH. The right candidate will be an individual with a deep respect for the competence of young children and who views the relationship with the child and family as central to the construction of learning. This is a part time position, three full days and one half day/wk co-teaching two classes of 4-5-year-old children. We anticipate the position growing to full time with-in a year or two. Our program runs September – May. We offer a competitive salary and limited benefits.

An associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or a related field with 30 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, and/ or early childhood special education is preferred. Experience working with preschool aged children in a group setting is required. Knowledge of NAEYC's developmentally appropriate practice and emergent curriculum, such as in Reggio Emilia inspired classrooms, is desired.Position Responsibilities:
This is a three and a half day/wk salaried position, September – May, co-teaching two classes of 4-5-year- old children. Responsibilities include co-constructing curriculum based on children’s interests, questions and development. Documenting, reflecting and planning from observations. Participating in weekly planning meetings with teaching team. Document children’s learning, development and progress. Meeting the needs of all children. Conduct home visits in mid to late August. Communicate with families through face to face conversations, telephone calls, notes, parent- teacher conferences, and other means as necessary. Maintain collaborative and professional relationships with colleagues. Show professionalism including integrity, ethical conduct and decision making. The candidate will be reflective, ask questions, be willing to take risks and make mistakes. Classroom teaching would take place on MWF 8:30-11:30 and 12:30-3:30PM (with a half hr on either end for set up and clean up and lunch in between). Weekly team planning meetings occur on Tuesdays from 12:00-2:30PM. Professional Development is offered the first Thursday of each month.
