Aftercare Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Aftercare Coordinator is a full time position, Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm. Responsibilities include assisting and planning activities for children ages 3-6 years of age, snack preparation, cleaning, and closing duties.

Position Qualifications & Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age and have at least 9 Early Childhood college credits (3 in Child Development) or have 1,500 hours of licensed childcare experience, 3 college credits in Child Development with a plan to complete an additional 6 college credits in Early Childhood within 12 months or a 2-year child care vocational course and 1,000 hours in a licensed childcare center, or a Para II educator certification.

Position Responsibilities:

The Aftercare Coordinator is responsible for: organizing activities for, and supervision of, preschoolers in the 3:00-5:15 p.m. aftercare program; assist with their bathroom/diapering needs; playground coverage in various weather; lunch time assistance/teacher coverage; snack preparation and shopping; assisting with and coordinating cleaning/closing duties; and other classroom duties as needed. Candidates must be willing to learn more about Montessori teaching methods, pass a background check, and have ability to speak to children at all times in a calm, gentle, respectful tone.
