Position Summary:

Toddler/Preschool Teacher

(with optional Assistant Director responsibilities)

Seeking a candidate to join our small, center based team of early educators (serving toddlers & preschoolers). We have a hard working staff that loves having fun and supporting the needs of our children and families. We strive for a work and learning environment with a balance of professionalism and the comforts of a family.

We enjoy the outdoors in all seasons, whether it be our own 12 acres of land or our beautiful surrounding community of Lake and Mount Sunapee. We believe in creating an environment full of opportunities for our children to explore and grow. We provide developmentally appropriate experiences that engage the senses and encourage exploration.

Position Qualifications & Requirements:

Applicants must meet state licensing requirements including education (Early Childhood Education credits) and be able to pass background checks

9+ ECE Credits (Preferred)

3-5 Years experience in an early education or licensed center setting (Preferred)

-Dependability and strong work ethic- being able to take direction as well as self initiation of tasks

-Be physically able to lift up to 50lbs, sit, kneel, and crouch at child level, and enjoy daily outdoor experiences in a variety of weather conditions

-Have a calm and patient demeanor, high energy, and be able to handle stressful and face paced situations

Position Responsibilities:

-Work as part of a team of educators to care for and educate the children (and families) of our program

-Be the primary caregiver for up to five children daily, (assist with care for other children as needed)

-Create and maintain a developmentally appropriate learning environment that is age appropriate and engaging, including daily routines and activities

- Assist/perform personal care of children (hand washing, toileting/diapering, feeding, etc)

-Communicate with families regularly in a positive and respectful manner

-Conduct child assessments and facilitate parent-teacher conferences

-Attend and engage in occasional family events on evening/weekend time

-Maintain a professional self image and role model in a manner that projects the values of our program

Full-Time
Hours Per Week:
20-40, based on choice- once schedule is set, must be consistent
Job Pay Rate:
Based on education/experience, 3-5 weeks paid time off
