Position Summary:

The overall responsibility of the Early Education Teacher is to provide engaging, child inspired curriculum with a focus on the whole child in a team atmosphere.  Primarily this includes leading planned classroom activities while providing direct care, meeting the needs of each individual child with support of their cognitive, social-emotional and physical development, and supervision of all children enrolled while ensuring the program is in compliance with NH State Licensing Bureau regulations.  This position is responsible for a high level of parent communication, development of a creative and intentional learning environment and the establishment of child inspired curriculum practices for both our indoor and outdoor classrooms.

Position Qualifications & Requirements:


·  Bachelor’s degree, with degree in Education or related field a plus

·  Twenty-four early childhood education credits, teaching experience preferred

·  Must pass Background Check (State Fingerprint)

·  Is, or is willing to be CPR and First Aid Certified

·  Knowledge of children’s physical, emotional and developmental patterns

·  Knowledge of general learning theories and curriculum development

·  Excellent time-management and organizational skills

Position Responsibilities:

·  Create an environment that fosters cooperation, communication and collaboration

·  Consider the individual child and their uniqueness in program and curriculum planning

·  Use the outdoors as an extension to the classroom

·  Plan intentional, child-inspired curriculum

·  Ensure all classroom activities are developmentally appropriate and enhance social, physical and intellectual well-being of the children enrolled

·  Communicate directly with the Program Director

·  Possess the ability and desire to accommodate children and families in any way so each child can be successful in program, including but not limited to supervision and administration of insulin, epinephrine or other lifesaving medications

·  Attend All Staff meetings, as well as participate in a minimum of 24 hours annually of professional development in early childhood education

·  Interact with children and encourage and guide their involvement in activities

·  Use appropriate and responsive language and positive behavior guidance; and work with teacher assistants to do the same to maintain consistency with children, staff and parents
